Refund & Payment Policy
Effective October 5, 2026 · Last updated October 5, 2026
This page explains what the program costs, how to pay, and how refunds work. It's part of our Terms of Service.
Tuition#
Tuition for the founding cohort (January 2027) includes everything: Week 0 pre-work; the 12-week program (core teaching in Weeks 1–8, then the 4-week Offer Sprint of mock interviews and networking); after Week 12, a 20-minute weekly check-in and a mock interview every other week until an internship offer or May 31, 2027, while the student keeps up 100 outreach emails and 6–8 networking calls a week; and coached Extern externship applications with the Extern fee covered. There are no other required fees.
Ways to pay#
- Pay your full tuition before Week 1.
- Or reserve a seat with your deposit; the remaining tuition is invoiced separately and due before Week 1. Those are the only two ways to pay.
- All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
The deposit#
Your deposit holds a seat in the cohort. It counts toward tuition; it is not an extra fee.
Your deposit is fully refundable through December 15, 2026. After that, it applies to tuition, and the remaining tuition is invoiced separately and due before Week 1.
If the fit call shows the program isn't a fit, we refund the deposit in full, whatever the date.
After the deposit, the remaining tuition is sent to you as a separate invoice, due before Week 1.
Missed payments#
If the balance payment fails or is late, we'll email you and give you time to update your payment method. Please reply and tell us what's going on. A student's access to sessions may be paused if a payment remains unresolved after we've been in touch.
Withdrawing during the program#
Withdraw before Week 3 for a prorated refund of unused weeks. No refunds after Week 3. If we cancel the cohort, every payment is refunded in full.
Offer-or-refund#
Do the work and we stand behind it. If your student hits every weekly minimum through May 31, 2027 and doesn't receive an internship offer, paid or unpaid, we refund your full tuition.
Terms: Any internship offer, paid or unpaid, counts, including one that's declined. Minimums must be met and logged every week (one makeup week allowed). Dropping, pausing, or missing minimums past the makeup week ends eligibility. Refund requests are due by June 15, 2027 and paid within 30 days.
The weekly minimums. Weeks 1–4: 25 outreach emails and 2 networking calls per week, follow-ups on schedule, every session and 1:1 attended, assignments in by Sunday 11:59 pm, scheduled mocks completed. Weeks 5–8: 50 outreach emails and 3 networking calls per week, follow-ups on schedule, every session and 1:1 attended, assignments in by Sunday 11:59 pm, scheduled mocks completed. Weeks 9–12: 75 outreach emails and 4–5 networking calls per week, follow-ups on schedule, weekly mock completed, applications logged. After Week 12: 100 outreach emails, follow-ups on schedule, 6–8 networking calls, a mock interview every other week, applications logged. One makeup week allowed.
Outside offer-or-refund and the rules above, not landing an internship offer is not by itself grounds for a refund. See Our Promise for what we commit to.
If we cancel or change the cohort#
If we cancel the cohort, you get a full refund of every payment you've made, including the deposit. If we change the start date or format before the program starts in a way that doesn't work for you, you may withdraw for a full refund.
How to request a refund#
Email hello@firstofferacademy.com from the email address you used to apply, with the student's name and "Refund request" in the subject line. We'll confirm we received it within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe; your bank may take 5–10 business days to show it.
